About the program

Based on the popular Design Your Life movement from Stanford University, this one-day workshop will introduce early career academics to tools that help you take ownership of your future in a way that aligns with your values and aspirations.

Who is it for?

Target audience

The program is targeted at those at the postdoctoral or early career level (Levels A and B) who are at a crossroads in their career and are wanting to explore alternative career paths to academia.

Up to 25 participants will be accepted each round, selected via an Expression of Interest process.

Eligibility

Level A-B academics (continuing, fixed term, casual) employed by the University

  • Identify 'energy givers' and 'energy drainers' in your current work and life and consider how to take positive action to energise your week
  • Use design thinking inspired tools (and an open mindset!) to ideate and explore various opportunities
  • Commit to positive actions which explore new ideas or possibilities for your career
